Year:2022 - 2023

Area of origin: Valtènesi, Soffaino hills in the area called “Preafète”.

Grape Grape: Groppello (prevalent %), native grape variety from Valtènesi, Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese.

Harvest: Manual harvest in small crates.

Production:It is called 'the wine of one night' because historically, to obtain its characteristic pink colour, it was left overnight in contact with its skins.

The vinification process for this wine begins at dawn, when the grapes are still wet from the morning coolness. After rigorous selection, the grapes are gently poured into the press together with the stalks and subjected to a pressing called crémant, which allows the heart of the grape to be extracted. In addition, a cryomaceration of the skins for 3-4 hours helps maintain the wine's subtle aromas and structure while limiting colour extraction.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, using indigenous yeasts to maximise the wine's natural aromas and finesse. After an ageing period of about 5-6 months on the fine lees, the wine reaches its optimal expression and is bottled, ready to express all the character and purity of its terroir.

HISTORY OF WINE
Valtènesi Rosa, a new and more rigorous interpretation of an enological exclusivity of the Brescia coast of Lake Garda, focused on the Groppello vine. An authentic local wine, born from an ancient vocation codified more than a hundred years ago by the Venetian senator Pompeo Molmenti.

A few hours of contact between the must and the skins and then the ritual of the nocturnal racking. At that precise moment, guided by the mastery of the man in the cellar, Valtènesi makes his own the freshness and temperament of Groppello's acini, which determine his character. It is a wine that embodies the centuries-old tradition, the strength of unique terroir and the elegance of winemaking in pink.

TASTING NOTES
Pale pink colour with salmon reflections. The nose is of great finesse and elegance, expressing notes of wild strawberry, wild berries, pink grapefruit with hints of white flowers at the end.
On the palate it is fresh and silky with a good savouriness in balance with the perceived fruit.
